Dubai: (RightNow) Indian fast bowler Kranti Gowda has been fined 10% of her match fee by the ICC for a code of conduct violation during the Women’s Asia Cup final. The incident occurred in the first over when Kranti pointed towards the pavilion after dismissing Sri Lanka’s opener Amisha Dalani.

According to the ICC, Kranti violated Article 2.5, which pertains to provoking an outgoing batsman or using inappropriate language, gestures, or actions. Kranti admitted her mistake and accepted the penalty suggested by match referee Supriya Rani Das.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs to win the Women’s Asia Cup title for the eighth time. Kranti Gowda took one wicket and conceded 8 runs in the match.
