Vienna: (RightNow) Iran’s nuclear program head, Mohammad Eslami, was barred from attending the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference due to US opposition. According to Iranian media, Eslami and his delegation were denied entry after departing for Vienna.

Iranian officials reported that Mohammad Eslami was supposed to attend the ongoing meeting at the IAEA headquarters. The meeting will continue until Friday, discussing global nuclear energy issues.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed strong reactions to Austria’s actions. The spokesperson stated that the decision not to issue visas to the Iranian delegation is unjustified and attributed it to US pressure.

In protest, Iran summoned Austria’s chargé d’affaires to demand an explanation. Iran claims that preventing the delegation from attending the conference violates diplomatic principles.

It is noteworthy that Iran’s nuclear program faces strong opposition from Western countries, particularly the US. Iran asserts that this opposition is exerted through the use of international nuclear organizations.
