Tehran: (RightNow) Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the Austrian diplomat. This action follows the refusal to grant a visa to Iranian nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami.

According to media reports, ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghi stated that Austria’s visa denial is unfair. He described it as an inappropriate decision.

Mohammad Eslami was scheduled to attend the International Atomic Energy Agency’s annual conference in Vienna. The conference will continue until Friday, and Eslami participated last year as well.

The spokesperson clarified that Austria’s government was protested, and their chargé d’affaires was summoned. This protest took place at the Foreign Ministry.

It is noteworthy that Austria, as a host country of the United Nations, can request exemptions from travel restrictions. These exemptions are for attending UN conferences.
