Experts say current robots face issues with high energy consumption and performance in uncertain environments. No armed humanoid robot has been deployed in the People’s Liberation Army in China.

It is clear that China’s military research views robots as potential tools for urban warfare. In 2025, Chinese researchers studied six different combat robots.
