Peshawar: (RightNow) A consultative session was held regarding the 2026 Transport Policy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Representatives from various government departments participated, discussing the outlines of the province’s first comprehensive transport policy.

The draft policy focuses on promoting a safe, integrated, and modern transport system. Providing better travel facilities for women, special individuals, and marginalized groups is a key part of the policy.

The policy includes plans to establish effective connections between different modes of transport. The aim is to provide citizens with better facilities during travel.

Emphasis is also placed on developing modern infrastructure for freight, logistics, and commercial activities. Proposals for strengthening regional trade corridors are included.

It is noteworthy that Special Assistant for Transport Samiullah Khan stated that the policy will be presented to the cabinet for approval and will be formally implemented after approval.
