Iran appeals to the UN against US sanctions, calling them economic terrorism.
Tehran: (RightNow) Iran has approached the United Nations against US economic sanctions, sending a letter to the Secretary-General. The Iranian Foreign Minister has termed US actions as economic terrorism.
The letter states that the US aims to sever Iran’s economic ties with various countries, potentially affecting the Iranian people’s access to basic necessities.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson has said that US policy has become a joke, as the US uses countries like Bahrain to show the strength of its alliances.
According to Iran, there are no significant economic ties between Bahrain and Iran, and Washington is imposing more sanctions, further complicating the already affected nation.
It is noteworthy that Iran has previously raised its voice against US sanctions on global forums, labeling them illegal and inhumane.
