Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) Shah Ghulam Qadir, President of PML-N Azad Kashmir, and former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider have rejected the decision to nominate Barrister Iftikhar Gilani as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. They stated they will not vote or attend the assembly session.
Shah Ghulam Qadir expressed strong reservations about the party leadership’s decision. Sources indicate he believes Iftikhar Gilani, elected on a technocrat seat, is unsuitable for the Prime Minister position.
According to PML-N sources, Shah Ghulam Qadir and Raja Farooq Haider opposed Iftikhar Gilani during a meeting in Islamabad. Discussions were held on the disagreements and reservations.
This issue may lead to new political alignments within PML-N in Azad Kashmir. Various party factions are engaged in consultations and considering future strategies.
It is noteworthy that disagreements over the Prime Minister candidate within PML-N Azad Kashmir have affected the government formation process. Shah Ghulam Qadir’s opposition to Nawaz Sharif’s decision has created a new political situation.
