Islamabad: (RightNow) An important meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was held regarding the deaths of newborns at PIMS Hospital. The Prime Minister expressed severe displeasure with the concerned officials.

The Prime Minister immediately dismissed Federal Health Secretary Aslam Ghori from his position. Following the dismissal notification, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Mahmood was given additional charge as Health Secretary.

An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the incident. Former Interior Secretary Shahid Khan has been appointed as the head of the committee.

The committee includes Secretary Establishment Dr. Barrister Navel Awan. It will review the causes and responsibilities of the incident and identify any possible negligence.

It is noteworthy that there is intense public anger following this tragedy, and questions are being raised about the transparency of government actions.
