Islamabad: (RightNow) An initial report has been released by the administration regarding the fire incident at PIMS Hospital. According to the report, the fire ignited due to a nebulizer explosion in the NICU.

The initial report states that smoke from the fire entered the infants’ respiratory systems, resulting in the death of 15 infants. Out of the 16 infants present in the hospital, only one survived.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the incident and ordered an immediate investigation by the relevant authorities. He expressed strong displeasure with the officials during a meeting.

This tragedy highlights the causes of the fire and the lack of safety measures. It underscores the need for improved safety systems in the healthcare sector.

It is noteworthy that a fire broke out in the nursery of the gynecology ward at PIMS Hospital this morning, resulting in the tragic death of 15 newborns.
