Inmates seek court permission for private healthcare following Imran Khan’s treatment. Court issues notice to jail authorities.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Following Imran Khan’s private hospital treatment, inmates have approached the court. Three prisoners from Adiala Jail have filed petitions seeking permission for treatment in private hospitals.
The court has issued notices to jail authorities, requesting details. Justice Muhammad Asif heard the petitions of inmates Ilyas Khan, Muhammad Ismail Khan, and Owais Altaf.
The lawyer argued that providing adequate treatment is a right of the prisoners. Treatment for a hemophilia patient is possible at Shifa Hospital.
It is important to note that the Supreme Court has ruled that prisoners can be transferred to private hospitals in case of illness. The court has given jail authorities until August 27 to respond.
