The gas sector’s circular debt stands at Rs 3,611 billion, while the electricity sector’s circular debt has reached Rs 1,675 billion. This situation is creating challenges in energy supply and financial management.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has stated that Pakistan’s energy sector is under financial stress, which could impact the economy. Authorities are taking steps to improve the situation.
