Supreme Court Criticizes High Court System in Eman Mazari Case

The Supreme Court criticized the High Court’s system in the Eman Mazari case, adjourning further hearings until September 17.

Islamabad: (RightNow) The Supreme Court heard appeals for the suspension of sentences for Eman Mazari and Hadi Chattha. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan stated that it is better not to comment on the High Court’s system.

During the hearing, a two-member bench led by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan reviewed the appeals. The Additional Attorney General informed about the High Court’s vacations and stated that the appeals are not admissible.

In court, lawyer Faisal Siddiqui mentioned that the Supreme Court had ordered a decision within two weeks. The Additional Attorney General responded that the High Court has its own system.

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan told Faisal Siddiqui to let the system be exposed. He further stated that the case might disappear, but the court will remain.

It is noteworthy that the High Court had scheduled the case hearing for September 8. The court has adjourned further hearings until September 17.
