Hutchison Ports Pakistan invests $76 million in modern equipment to boost operations and aims to make Pakistan a transshipment hub.
Karachi: (RightNow) Hutchison Ports Pakistan announces a $76 million investment to enhance its operations. The program will install modern equipment in 2026 and 2027.
The upgrade includes two electric remote-controlled quay cranes, 17 rubber-tired gantry cranes, 70 e-trucks, and 50 trailers. The terminal has already received 20 e-trucks and 10 trailers in the first shipment this year.
This investment is a key part of the terminal’s modernization plan. By the end of 2026, total investment could exceed $690 million.
Hutchison Ports Pakistan CEO CS Kim states this investment is part of the vision to make Pakistan a leading transshipment hub in the region.
It is noteworthy that Hutchison Ports Pakistan’s deep-water container terminal plays a significant role in Pakistan’s economy with state-of-the-art facilities.
