Lahore: (RightNow) Former all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has criticized former cricketers and analysts in defense of Babar Azam. Speaking to Sky Sports, he expressed disappointment over the lack of respect Babar receives despite his performance.

Azhar Mahmood stated that Babar Azam is Pakistan’s only superstar who faces constant criticism. After the last series against England, Babar had to stay out of the team for nearly five months.

According to Azhar, Babar is disheartened by the behavior of former players and social media critics. He acknowledged that Babar has some flaws but is improving over time.

Azhar further mentioned that Babar appears more confident in leadership roles, but criticism limits him when he steps down. Under Babar’s leadership, Pakistan has achieved significant victories.

It is noteworthy that under Babar Azam’s captaincy, Pakistan has won 56.67% of 150 matches. Pakistan reached the semi-finals and finals of the T20 World Cup under his leadership.
