London: (RightNow) The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency has approved a new weight loss pill. This pill, to be taken once daily, will be known as Fondaio.
The drug is developed by the well-known company Eli Lilly and was approved on Monday. The UK becomes the first European country to authorize the use of this pill.
Fondaio is a GLP-receptor agonist that helps reduce blood sugar levels and appetite. It is specifically approved for individuals with a BMI of 30 or higher.
The pill is to be used alongside a low-calorie diet and physical activity. It may also be beneficial for type 2 diabetes patients whose condition is not adequately controlled.
It is noteworthy that this pill can be taken once a day without any specific dietary or water restrictions.
