Islamabad: (RightNow) The Monument of Victory was inaugurated in Islamabad, highlighting national unity and defense commitment. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended the event.

The ceremony was attended by service chiefs, federal ministers, foreign ambassadors, the Senate Chairman, and the Speaker of the National Assembly. Governors of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with the Chief Minister of Punjab, were also present.

Armed forces and civil armed forces contingents participated in the event. Police contingents from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan were also present.

The Monument of Victory is recognized as a symbol of national history and the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans. Tributes were paid to the martyrs, and the commitment to national defense was reaffirmed.
