Karachi: (RightNow) The government and goods transporters are set to hold talks today. The nationwide strike continues for the sixth day due to two previous failed negotiations.

President of All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance, Malik Shehzad Awan, stated that discussions will involve the Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping and the Sindh Transport Minister. The Chief Secretary of Sindh and other officials will also participate.

Malik Shehzad Awan emphasized that the strike will persist indefinitely until demands are met. He expressed skepticism about any government assurances.

President of All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association, Muhammad Owais Chaudhry, confirmed the talks. He stated that the transporters’ demands are legal and in the national economic interest.

It is noteworthy that transporters insist the strike will continue until demands are accepted. There is hope for serious and fruitful dialogue with the government.
