Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked over 1 million URLs on social media platforms related to inappropriate content.

According to documents, 563 URLs are under review, while 9,528 URLs have been rejected. The total number of blocked URLs exceeds 1 million.

For terrorism-related content, 179,285 URLs were submitted for blocking, out of which 141,897 URLs have been blocked, and 23,241 URLs are under review.

Content against the sanctity of Islam and Pakistan’s security involved 136,891 and 125,427 URLs processed, respectively.

It is noteworthy that a total of 1,542,800 URLs have been blocked across various categories, with 76,874 URLs under review and 106,629 URLs rejected.
