The ministry stated that Afghanistan already possesses advanced weapons left by US forces, valued at $7.2 billion. These weapons are sufficient for their needs.
According to the ministry, Afghanistan also has large stockpiles of Soviet-era weapons. This abundance is a major reason for the surplus of arms in Afghanistan.
The statement further mentioned that this is an attempt to divert global attention from the real issue. The presence of terrorist groups on Afghan soil is the main concern.
