Lahore: (RightNow) Jamaat-e-Islami announces simultaneous nationwide protests starting August 16. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman.

The meeting decided that protests will commence after Independence Day celebrations on August 16. Protests will occur in all four provinces, including one outside the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stated that these protests aim to pressure the government to reverse its decisions. Yesterday, demonstrations were held at 510 locations, reflecting the public’s voice.

These protests are significant against governmental oppression and highlight public issues. Jamaat-e-Islami has also raised its voice against IPPs.

It is noteworthy that Jamaat-e-Islami has welcomed the defense agreement between Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, urging other Islamic countries to join.
