Lahore: (RightNow) The Lahore High Court has immediately stopped LPG companies from collecting extra premiums. The court has sought responses from OGRA and all licensed companies.

Notices have been issued to OGRA and relevant companies regarding the extra premium collection issue. Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf heard the petition filed by Lahore High Court Bar lawyer Babar Murtaza Khan.

Petitioner Babar Murtaza presented arguments against more than 40 companies. The petitioner’s lawyer stated that LPG companies are illegally collecting extra premiums, which is against the law.

The court remarked that gas is a necessity for the common man, and extra premium collection forces citizens to buy expensive gas. The court refused to leave the companies unchecked.

It is noteworthy that complaints have been filed against various companies regarding extra premium collection. The court has ordered immediate action on this matter.
