Islamabad: (RightNow) The Islamabad High Court has suspended the order to release details of the national cricket team’s players’ salaries and benefits. Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar issued a stay order on PCB’s request, suspending the Information Commission’s July 9 decision.

The court has issued notices to the Pakistan Information Commission and citizen Kashif Shehzad Awan, seeking their responses. The court has halted the provision of information until the next hearing.

PCB’s lawyer, Kashif Malik Advocate, argued that the requested information is not limited to institutional expenses. It includes players’ personal financial information and confidential agreements.

This decision could impact the transparency of the national cricket team’s financial information. The situation will become clearer after further court proceedings.

It is noteworthy that the Pakistan Information Commission had ordered the release of players’ financial details on July 9, which PCB challenged.
