Peshawar: (RightNow) Following heavy rains in the upper regions, a flood hit Jaghor Gol Nala in Lower Chitral. The floodwaters entered the village, severely damaging 26 homes and a mosque.

A connecting bridge was swept away by the flood, cutting off road access to several areas. Cultivable land and other properties also suffered damage.

District administration, police, and rescue teams are conducting relief operations in the affected areas. Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azim and District Emergency Officer Sajid Ali Yousafzai have visited the affected sites.

This flood situation could have a significant impact on the area’s economy and daily life. It presents a challenging situation for both the government and the public, requiring immediate action.

It is noteworthy that further rains are expected in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, and Battagram, which could exacerbate the situation.
