Islamabad: (RightNow) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, leader of the Awam Pakistan Party, criticizes the government, stating that they now realize the country is not being run properly. He expressed concern over the economic crisis, rising poverty, and unemployment.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that unemployment in Pakistan has reached a 21-year high. According to government figures, the poverty rate is 21%, but the reality is worse.

In a press conference, he mentioned that people’s income has continuously decreased, and purchasing power has dropped by 14% due to inflation. He accused the government of only knowing how to impose new taxes.

He highlighted that due to economic decline, young people are leaving the country. He noted that electricity, gas, petrol, and diesel prices are higher compared to other regional countries.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi emphasized that the current budget lacks real reforms. He stressed that without constitutional supremacy and equal enforcement of the law, Pakistan cannot progress.
