Islamabad: (RightNow) President Asif Ali Zardari assures the nation of the commitment to eradicate terrorism and achieve lasting peace. During a meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, he discussed the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Security forces continue their operation in Bannu for the fifth day, destroying multiple hideouts. The Interior Minister briefed the President on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The President paid tribute to the sacrifices of law enforcement agencies.

According to ISPR, 32 terrorists were killed in operations in Khyber and Nushki. The operations targeted terrorists from Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan. In Mastung, the death toll of terrorists in Operation Al-Azm has reached 16.

In Swat, a joint operation by police and CTD resulted in the killing of 4 Khawarij terrorists, with an Elite Force constable martyred. Sources reported that police have gained control of a strategic point in the Matta area.

It is noteworthy that the security forces’ campaign under Azm-e-Istahkam, approved by the federal apex committee, continues. This campaign involves intensive operations to eliminate terrorism.
