Tomato prices in Karachi rise to 450-500 rupees per kg, no relief despite Iranian imports.
Karachi: (RightNow). The price of tomatoes in Karachi has surged further. Despite the import of Iranian tomatoes, citizens have not received any relief.
In the local market, tomato prices have reached 450 to 500 rupees per kilogram. Several traders have set prices between 110 to 125 rupees per pound.
Recent reports indicate that traders are selling Iranian and Quetta tomatoes at high prices. Smaller-sized tomatoes are being sold at 400 rupees per kilogram.
The increase in tomato prices is causing difficulties for the public. Citizens are appealing to the government for assistance.
It is noteworthy that last year, tomato prices also increased, causing hardships for the citizens.
