Lahore: (RightNow) The Lahore High Court has rejected the appeals of four convicts in the Sargodha shrine murder case. The court upheld the decision of 20 death sentences.

A two-member bench led by Justice Shahbaz Rizvi delivered the verdict. Prosecutor Raheela Shahid presented arguments on behalf of the government. The decision spans 25 pages.

The court stated that the atrocity of the crime cannot blind justice. The decision was based on evidence, and the immediate filing of the FIR eliminated the possibility of a false case.

The court emphasized the importance of the injured witness’s statement and noted that the presence of blood-stained weapons strengthened the prosecution’s case. All evidence was medically consistent.

It is noteworthy that the dispute over the shrine’s succession led to this massacre. The court maintained the death sentences for all four convicts to prevent such crimes in the future.
