Islamabad: (RightNow) Due to rising petroleum product prices, the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a 5% increase in fares.

Malik Shehzad Awan stated that diesel prices increased by Rs 5.70 yesterday and Rs 7.15 today per liter. He warned that without further relief, the transport system nationwide will be affected.

Malik Shehzad Awan condemned the daily increase in petroleum product prices. The alliance also announced support for the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association’s strike.

In this situation, negotiations between Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and the Petrol Pump Owners Association have failed. The association announced the closure of petrol pumps from midnight tonight.

It is noteworthy that the continuous rise in petroleum prices has severely impacted the transport sector and increased public difficulties.
