Paris: (RightNow) A severe fire has erupted in the historic Fontainebleau Forest near Paris. The blaze has affected a vast area, burning approximately one thousand acres of forest land.

Due to the fire, around 900 people near Fontainebleau have been relocated to safe areas. The A6 motorway and railway traffic were temporarily affected. The firefighting operation involves 500 firefighters and special aircraft.

Authorities have reported no casualties or damage to residential buildings so far. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez stated that the fire ignited from multiple locations, suggesting the possibility of arson.

Police are investigating the matter. French President Emmanuel Macron has called the fire extraordinary and expressed sympathy for those affected.

It is noteworthy that the Fontainebleau Forest holds historical significance and is located about 70 kilometers south of Paris. It is also a popular tourist attraction.
