Chilas: (Right Now News) In Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamer district, heavy rains have led to devastating floods in Khanbari Sheen Sharnala. The floods have destroyed several homes, agricultural lands, and standing crops.

Hundreds of kanals of agricultural land have been submerged, causing significant financial losses to local residents. A residential house and several other properties have also been affected by the floods.

Heavy machinery of a construction company, including 14 dumpers, 2 water bowsers, 2 loaders, and an excavator, has been severely impacted. The crusher plant and asphalt plant have also been destroyed.

Access roads have been affected by the floods, hindering relief efforts. Affected families urgently need tents, food, clean water, and medical facilities.

It is noteworthy that the effects of climate change are continuously increasing in Gilgit-Baltistan, often leading to flood situations after rainfall in the region.
