Kathmandu: (RightNow) During a sudden devastating flood in Nepal, a 24-year-old worker named Bibek Kamal was saved by a mango tree. Kamal reported that he survived by getting caught in the tree during the flood.

Worker Kamal was working in a pit before the flood when his colleagues warned him after hearing noises. He tried to escape but was swept away by the water flow. Fortunately, he got stuck in a mango tree.

Kamal is receiving treatment at Kathmandu’s National Trauma Center, where he stated that without the tree, he would have been swept away by the flood. Police rescued Kamal from the tree and moved him to a safe location.

This flood is being considered the worst natural disaster in recent years. Authorities report 469 people have died, and hundreds are missing. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the injured are being transferred to various hospitals.

It is important to note that during the monsoon season, Nepal often experiences severe floods and landslides due to heavy rains. The country also faces other natural disasters, including earthquakes.
