Islamabad: (Right Now News) Pakistan has activated the ‘Gabad Border Terminal’ on the Pakistan-Iran border under the international road transport (TIR) system to expand its regional trade.

This development allows Pakistan to access Central Asian states via Iran without relying on the Afghanistan route. It is not only a shorter path but also a safer and more modern alternative.

Through this new trade route, meat containers have been dispatched from Karachi to Tashkent (Uzbekistan). After customs clearance, these containers are en route to their destination via Iran.

This trade corridor has been activated by the National Logistics Corporation (NLC). This initiative will boost Pakistan’s exports and reduce trade barriers.

It is noteworthy that last year, Pakistani exporters faced challenges due to border disputes with Afghanistan. Creating an alternative route through Iran became an economic necessity for Pakistan.
