Attaullah Tarar hinted at considering lockdown, oil price hikes, and relief options.
Islamabad: (Right Now News) Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has stated that options like lockdown, oil price hikes, and relief for specific sectors are under consideration due to current circumstances.
He mentioned during a TV program that a meeting chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari discussed important national decisions. He termed the participation of chief ministers from all four provinces as a positive development.
Attaullah Tarar said that global conditions have led to an increase in oil prices, but the government has provided various financial aids to offer relief to the public.
He further stated that the government has made cuts in official expenses under austerity measures, saving billions of rupees. Important decisions are expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan is emerging as a responsible diplomatic player globally, and its efforts for peace are being appreciated.
