Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif distributed stroke cards at Lahore General Hospital. She stated that Punjab is the largest province in the country, and leading it is a challenge.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the stroke program is initiated for public awareness, as many are unaware of this disease. She also mentioned rehabilitation efforts for stroke patients.

The Chief Minister instructed that no patient’s treatment should be halted due to lack of funds. She revealed that 40 primary stroke centers are operational in 23 districts, with 15 more being established.

She highlighted the importance of timely treatment post-stroke and noted the difficulty for the poor to afford a Rs. 300,000 injection. Lahore will soon have the world’s largest cancer hospital operational.

It is noteworthy that last year, 100 million people received treatment in government hospitals, with 100 million receiving free medicines. Additionally, 16,000 children underwent heart surgeries.
