Sam Altman emphasizes accepting some negative impacts for AI’s benefits, urging focus on safety standards.
New York: (RightNow) Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology increases risks to humanity. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman states that the global community must accept some negative impacts for AI benefits.
Sam Altman, in an interview, mentioned that AI is advancing rapidly, and to make this technology accessible to the public, some risks must be accepted. He further added that there is a need to slow down AI development.
He emphasized that while avoiding catastrophic risks is essential, everyday negative impacts must be tolerated. The benefits of this technology can outweigh these effects.
It is clear that in recent weeks, OpenAI and Anthropic have urged slowing down the development of advanced AI models. Both companies have called for greater focus on safety standards.
It should be noted that U.S. lawmakers have criticized AI companies. Anthropic’s CEO warned that rapid development could lead to rogue AI agents hijacking the internet.
