Islamabad: (RightNow) A meeting on regulatory reforms was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The focus was on measures to enhance business ease and promote investment.
The Prime Minister stated that regulatory reforms are essential to facilitate the business community. The government is taking effective steps to eliminate unnecessary regulations.
He mentioned reforms in the Drug Regulatory Authority and emphasized the need for changes in other institutions. The Prime Minister instructed the formation of a regulatory registry.
The Prime Minister announced that the Easy Business Act will be implemented nationwide. This will harmonize the regulatory system across provinces, providing uniform facilities to businesses.
It is noteworthy that the Cabinet’s Regulatory Reforms Committee has approved 557 reforms across 7 multi-sectors. These reforms are expected to save 460 billion rupees annually.
