Islamabad: (RightNow) A contempt of court petition has been filed against PTI leader Junaid Akbar in Islamabad High Court over an allegedly controversial statement. The petition was submitted by businessman Waqas Ahmed through lawyer Akhtar Cheema.

The petitioner claims that Junaid Akbar incited the public to come to Islamabad, violating the court’s decision of September 14. He further stated that the statement provoked the public.

In the current situation, the court has been requested to initiate contempt proceedings against Junaid Akbar. The court has not yet made a final decision.

This matter holds significance as it involves allegations of violating a court decision, which could impact the judiciary’s credibility.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court sentenced Nehal Hashmi to one month in prison for violating a court decision, which is referenced in the petition.
