Quetta: (RightNow). The Balochistan High Court has dismissed the request of Afghan citizens to continue their medical education in Pakistan. The bench, comprising Justice Muhammad Amir Nawaz Rana and Justice Abdul Qayyum Lehri, stated that foreign nationals do not have a permanent right to education against state policy.

The court emphasized that the return of foreign nationals and national security matters fall under the jurisdiction of state administration. The court refused to interfere in administrative matters.

The decision highlighted that while the state is responsible for treating Afghan citizens with dignity and justice, they do not have the right to permanent residence or education on humanitarian grounds.

The Balochistan High Court advised affected Afghan citizens to contact the Afghan embassy for redressal of their grievances.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan began the repatriation of undocumented Afghan citizens in November 2023. The government states that individuals with legal visas may stay, while others must return.
