A power outage at Dhabeji Pumping Station has disrupted Karachi’s water supply. K-Electric and Water Corporation are in contact.
Karachi: (RightNow) A major power outage has occurred at the Dhabeji Pumping Station. The issue arose due to a cable fault in the K-Electric system.
According to the Water Corporation, electricity supply was suspended in various phases of Dhabeji at 6 AM. K-Electric has attributed the outage to a cable fault.
Due to the breakdown, electricity at the third and fourth phases of Dhabeji, including the K-3 pump house, was cut off. Out of 21 pumps, 10 have become non-operational.
The Water Corporation spokesperson stated that the shutdown of 10 pumps poses a partial threat to Karachi’s water supply.
It is noteworthy that continuous contact is being maintained with K-Electric management for power restoration. The affected pumps will be reactivated immediately once electricity is restored.
