Pakistan ranks 17th in business entry category; SECP approves measures for transparency.
Islamabad: (RightNow). The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has approved significant measures to improve the business readiness ranking. SECP states that Pakistan ranks 17th among 101 economies in the business entry category.
Pakistan’s score in the business entry category is 86.64. Information on company registration and changes is available to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) through an automated system. SECP, FBR, and the Board of Investment will collaborate on information exchange.
Environmental requirements and permit information will be linked on the SECP website. Information on government support programs for SMEs and women entrepreneurs is also available.
SECP has released gender-based statistics related to new companies. Data sets for male and female shareholders, directors, and beneficial owners will be prepared.
It is noteworthy that these measures are expected to enhance transparency and digital coordination among institutions. Further improvement in Pakistan’s business readiness performance is possible.
