Islamabad: (RightNow) NEPRA has decided to implement uniform grid charges for open access users. Under this decision, new charges will be imposed on electricity users in various categories.

According to NEPRA, users obtaining open access through competitive wheeling auctions must pay transmission, distribution, and cross-subsidy charges. B3 users will be charged Rs 6.23 per unit, while B4 users will pay Rs 9.09 per unit.

C3 users will face a charge of Rs 14.95 per unit, C2 (A) users Rs 19.62, and C2 (B) users Rs 17.74 per unit. NEPRA has set charges for A2 (C) users at Rs 19.14 per unit and A3 users at Rs 19.10 per unit.

D2 (B) users will be charged Rs 6.72 per unit. This move by NEPRA aims to enhance transparency and promote a competitive environment in electricity supply.

It is noteworthy that this decision by NEPRA is part of ongoing reforms in the electricity sector, aimed at ensuring a fair and transparent system of electricity supply.
