Lahore: (RightNow) Significant developments have emerged regarding the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The proposal to hold the league in January next year is under consideration.

Sources indicate that consultations are ongoing between the PCB and PSL franchise owners regarding the potential schedule. The PSL Governing Council meeting in London also reviewed the schedule for the upcoming season.

The meeting highlighted that holding the league in January could pose challenges in securing foreign players. International series and other T20 leagues are ongoing during this period.

Sources suggest that the harsh cold and fog in Punjab during January and February could create difficulties for PSL matches. Weather and travel conditions will be considered in scheduling.

It is noteworthy that the initial 9 editions of PSL were held in February and March. However, due to the busy international cricket schedule, the dates were changed in the last 2 seasons.
