Karachi: (RightNow) The Japanese Film Festival 2026 has commenced in Karachi. Organized by the Japanese Consulate Karachi, Pakistan Japan Cultural Association Sindh, and Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the festival aims to introduce Japanese culture to the Pakistani public.

The festival will showcase 6 different Japanese films, including ‘Children of the Sea’. This film narrates the story of a girl’s connection with the sea and two mysterious brothers.

During the opening ceremony, Japanese Consul General Hattori Masaru thanked the attendees. He stated that the festival will serve as a meaningful platform for participants to engage.

Animator Shahzain Khan of ‘The Glass Worker’ praised the significance of Japanese animation and the consulate’s support during the opening ceremony.

It is noteworthy that the Japanese Film Festival 2026 provides Karachi audiences an opportunity to closely experience Japanese cinema and culture.
