Karachi: (RightNow) Jamaat-e-Islami has filed a direct complaint against Shabbar Zaidi for not retracting allegations of accepting money for protests. The judicial magistrate has transferred the case to the session court for hearing.

The complaint was filed by Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi’s General Secretary, Taufiquddin Siddiqui. He stated that Shabbar Zaidi made allegations against Jamaat-e-Islami in an online interview, accusing them of being a firewall for public sentiments.

Shabbar Zaidi further alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami acts as a firewall for the establishment to worsen public issues. He accused Hafiz Naeem of accepting 10 lakh. Zaidi claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami prevents public issues from being properly addressed.

The complainant sent a legal notice to Shabbar Zaidi on July 26. However, Zaidi responded on August 20, refusing to retract his allegations. The court is requested to register a case against Shabbar Zaidi.

It is noteworthy that Jamaat-e-Islami’s lawyer, Muhammad Tahir Advocate, stated that Shabbar Zaidi’s allegations are baseless. Jamaat-e-Islami is an independent political party, and its members do not have the authority to accept secret funds.
