Karachi: (RightNow) Despite claims of economic stability, a large population in Pakistan faces financial struggles. A recent survey shows the consumer confidence index has dropped to 65.3%.

Dun & Bradstreet and Gallup Pakistan released the 20th edition of the consumer confidence index for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2026. It highlights a significant decline in consumer confidence.

The report assesses current sentiments and future economic expectations. The current sentiment index has fallen to 51.8%, while future expectations stand at 78.7%.

The survey, based on 1,592 individuals, identifies inflation and unemployment as major financial pressure causes. 89.3% reported an increase in essential goods prices.

It is noteworthy that Bilal Gilani of Gallup Pakistan described this index as an indication of despair for Pakistan’s economy. The report states that clear actions are needed to improve consumer confidence.
