Islamabad: (RightNow) Heavy rain and strong winds have led to water accumulation on roads in various areas of Islamabad. The rain has been continuous for two days, and tonight it has further inundated the city, with rainfall also occurring in Malakand and surrounding areas.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted more heavy rain in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum on September 5. Authorities have been advised to remain on high alert.

Local administration has deployed additional relief teams in affected areas to manage the situation. The public is urged to avoid unnecessary travel.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, after 230 millimeters of rain in Rawalpindi, water entered homes in low-lying areas, submerging vehicles.

On Wednesday, due to heavy rain in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, all institutions were instructed to stay on high alert.
