Vienna: (RightNow) A valuable necklace belonging to the Egyptian royal family has been stolen from a museum in Vienna. Austrian police have released images of 2 suspects and have begun their search.

The necklace was part of a jewelry exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts. The suspects entered the museum with tickets and used a hammer to break the showcase and steal the necklace.

According to police, other people were present during the theft, but no injuries were reported. Police have appealed to the public for information.

Investigators suspect that the theft was carried out at the behest of a criminal gang. Following the incident, the museum has temporarily closed the exhibition.
