Washington: (RightNow) The Trump administration has proposed an increase in H-1B visa fees. The proposed fee could reach $103,265, placing a financial burden on foreign workers.

The US Department of Homeland Security issued a regulation on Monday. The public will have 30 days to comment, and the regulation is expected to be implemented by the end of the year.

This fee is significantly higher than the previous range of $2,000 to $5,000. It will make hiring foreign experts more expensive.

It should be noted that the H-1B visa program issues 65,000 visas annually. The Trump administration’s previous fee increase was deemed illegal by the court.

It is worth remembering that the Trump administration has introduced stricter conditions for H-1B visas. This could affect US tech companies and educational institutions.
