YouTube offers financial incentives to content creators to counter Netflix’s competition and retain platform exclusivity.
New York: (RightNow) YouTube has offered a financial package to its content creators to prevent them from moving to Netflix. This move comes amid increasing competition among digital video platforms.
According to Bloomberg, YouTube plans to pay its creators in two ways: direct funding for specific programs and revenue from commercial partnerships.
YouTube executives have warned creators that those presenting content on Netflix will be excluded from marketing campaigns. This step aims to keep content creators loyal to the platform.
This offer is part of YouTube’s efforts to maintain its vast audience base. Financial data shows YouTube’s revenue has surpassed $60 billion, exceeding Netflix’s earnings.
It is noteworthy that Netflix has also acquired licenses for popular YouTube content like ‘Cocomelon.’ This has sparked a new economic battle for content supremacy between the two companies.
