Khiva: (RightNow) Uzbekistan’s historic city Khiva hosted a traditional Melon Festival, setting a world record and entering the Guinness World Records. Over three days, 260 participants tasted more than 10 varieties of melons simultaneously.

Approximately 1.5 lakh local and over 36 thousand international tourists attended this global record event. The festival offered entertainment through artistic performances and master classes for guests.

Artistic designs of watermelons and melons were showcased at the festival. Officials state this global recognition will aid in promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism.

This event is crucial for enhancing international food cooperation and expanding export opportunities, benefiting Uzbekistan’s economy.

It is noteworthy that Uzbekistan’s Melon Festival is traditionally held annually, attracting participants from various countries.
